    1. Arrival in Trier

Individual arrival in Trier. We suggest an early arrival because there is plenty to see.

Take time to visit of the historical city centre, the Kaiserthermen (imperial thermal baths) and the Porta Nigra. The rental bikes (if booked) will be at the hotel.

    2. Trier – Trittenheim (40 km)

As you leave Germany’s oldest town and cycle along the Moselle, where the old ferry tower of Schweich is located, marvel at the small wine‐growing village Mehring with the famous Villa Rustica, a ruin, that was in Roman times a magnificent country house. In the afternoon you reach Trittenheim. Today we recommend awine tasting with cellar visitation and vintager snack (please book in advance).

    3. Trittenheim– Zeltingen (35 km)

As you reach Neumagen‐Dhron, the oldest wine‐growing town in Germany you will be able to admire the wreck of an old Roman ship, before you continue your bike ride over the winding cycle path. You can enjoy lunch on the market square of Bernkastel‐Kues while you enjoy the colorful craftwork and the many small alleys. Your destination of today's cycling stretch is the famous and traditional Moselle wine town Zeltingen‐Rachtig with around 171 hectares of vineyards and the world‐famous vineyards of Zeltinger Himmelreich, Schlossberg, Sonnenuhr and Deutschherrenberg, part of the communities on the Mittelmosel.

    4. Zeltingen – Zell (35 km)

Cycle through the wine growing area Kröver Nacktarsch to Traben‐Trarbach. Complete your programme of today with a boat tour on the Moselle. After a break in Enkirch, the role model of framework architecture, you reach Zell.

    5. Zell – Treis‐Karden (50 km)

Today you cycle via Beilstein, the Rothenburg on the Moselle to Cochem. Leave the bike path and visit the picturesque center and the old Reichsburg (11th century). This is really worth it! Take the time to visit the castle, because the last 12 km of your bike ride to the hotel in Treis‐Karden are easy to get around.

    6. Treis Karden – Koblenz (45 km)

In the morning, you might want to take a detour (4 km) to the medieval  Castle of Eltz, one of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in Germany. Situated on a hill top and embedded in an lush nature, it looks like a fairytale castle. Take part in an informal castle tour, discover the treasure room and enjoy the magnificent view. Afterwards you can cycle back to the Moselle cycle path. Once again typical Moselle wine regions such as Kobern‐Gondorf and Winningen will be on the way. Once in Koblenz the Moselle flows into the Rhine river and  you will spend the last evening of your bike tour accompanied by both the Mosel and the Rhine river.

    7. Koblenz

After breakfast your cycling tour ends in Koblenz. We recommend our transfer service to Trier (Departure 9 a.m., duration about 2 hrs. – pre‐booking is necessary).

The itinerary may be subject to unexpected changes before and/or during your holiday, due to unforeseeable circumstances, such as: extreme weather conditions, unannounced road or repair works or law enforcements.

  • Route profile

The Moselle is the main German tributary of the Rhine, and also the second navigable river in Germany. Most part of the tour unwinds along the river on a proper cycle path running on both river banks. The quality of the terrain is excellent: the route runs on paved roads or on well-trod soil paths well signed posted along the river. The itinerary is mainly flat with occasional mild ups and downs.

  • How to get there

Viaggio interessante e paesisticamente molto singolare.

Bella esperienza.. ciclabile tranquilla e facile..paesaggio molto bello... vino ottimo..
