Our barges

On a Bike & Boat holidays, our floating hotels will follow you along the various stages of the tour, and welcome you back on board in the afternoon, for a hearty dinner and a good night's sleep at your home-from-home. The formula has also proved popular with groups and associations keen for an unusual meeting venue and a holiday with a difference.

This ship is an ideal accomodation for sailing holidays with a large group. The view from the spacious living room is superb, and when weather permits the sun deck offers a well sheltered sitting area Many guests can be accomodated on this large hotelship. All two person cabins together with two hygienic sanitairy sections you find at the lower deck. As an extra the AMSTERDAM houses a small ships bar, where at evenings you can enjoy your drink.

A 311 ft. long and 36 ft. wide, very well equipped river cruise ship. The vessel has 56 cabins for maximal 112 passengers. All of these cabins have a window, giving you a different view every day (outside cabins).

 

Lower deck cabins

The lower deck offers space to 8 twin cabins and 22 superior twin cabins (approx. 135 sq.ft.). All of these have:

  • an individual climate control system
  • digital TV
  • wardrobe
  • mini-safe
  • hair dryer
  • 230V and 115V sockets
  • 2 separate single beds (78 x 31 inches)
  • private bathroom with shower, toilet, basin and bath products.

All twin cabins have a large picture window (4.59 ft. x 2.95 ft.) that can be partly opened. The difference between twin and superior twin cabins on the lower deck is their location in relation to the engine room, stairs and salon.

 

Upper deck cabins

The upper deck has 18 superior twin cabins (identical to the ones on the lower deck) and 8 spacious suites. The suites (approx. 200 sq. ft.) have the same amenities as the superior twin cabins, but are larger and – in addition – also have a mini-bar and a French balcony (floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors) instead of a window. The beds in all suites are set as a double bed (78 x 62 inches) and can (on request) be set as two separate single beds (78 x 31 inches).

 

Restaurant and lounge

De Amsterdam has a spacious restaurant on the lower deck. In the morning you can come to power for a healthy cycling day at the oval buffet in the middle. The pleasant lounge on the upper deck has large windows around, which offers you a great view of the surroundings. There is also a bar with a dance floor, so the evenings can certainly become fun! In the lounge there is Wi-Fi available for guests; complimentary limited data packages included, but additional data packages can be purchased online.

 

Outside

On the partially roofed sun deck the chairs and sun loungers invite you for a stay on a sunny day.

Bicycles will be stored on a separate part of the sun deck.

Lower deck cabins

The lower deck has 24 twin cabins. All cabins (approx. 108 sq.ft.) have:

an individual climate control system

digital TV

mini-safe

small wardrobe

hair dryer

230V sockets,

2 single beds (78 x 31 inches) and a private bathroom with shower, toilet and bath products and a window (2.55 ft. x 1.28 ft.) that – for safety reasons – cannot be opened.

 

Three “regular” twin cabins in the front have single beds, set in L-shape, and an additional Pullman Bed as optional third bed. Three twin cabins and eighteen superior twin cabins have separate beds, set next to each other as a hotel style bed (78 x 62 inches). The difference between twin and superior twin cabins on the lower deck is their location in relation to engine room, stairs and salon and/or (in 3 cases) beds set in L-shape (optional triple cabin).

 

Upper deck cabins

The upper deck offers 9 identical superior twin cabins (accommodation: s. lower deck) and 1 suite. The suite (approx. 140 sq. ft.) has the same amenities as the superior twin cabins, but is larger and – in addition – also has a mini-bar and a sofa bed as optional third bed. All upper premium deck cabins and the suite have a “French Balcony” (floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors) instead of a regular window.

Beds in most cabins are normally set as hotel-style beds (78 x 62 inches) or, optional, on previous request, can be arranged as 2 separate single beds (78 x 31 inches).

 

Restaurant and lounge

De Holland has a large salon with large panoramic windows on the upper deck that combines the restaurant, bar and a lounge area. Wi-Fi is available for guests in the salon (limited data packages included / additional data packages can be purchased online).

 

Outside

De Nassau is a medium-sized cozy river cruise ship. In the summer of 2018 the cabins and the salon/restaurant in front of the ship have been completely refitted:  a full restyle of the interior. The ship sails under Dutch flag and management and it’s perfectly equipped for canal tours.

The cabin deck of the Jelmar was completely renovated during the winter 2006/2007. 10 twin cabins with level beds, washbasin and shower/toilet, and 1 twin cabin with bunk bed and washbasin with private facilities just outside the cabin have been constructed. The well upgraded ship is ready to receive new guests to sail along on the bike- & barge trips as well as group charters.

A comfortable river barge for max. 36 guests.

 

On board there are 19 en suite cabins (aprox. 10 m² = 108 square feet) with 2 low beds, individually adjustable AC, and ventilation system. All cabins have a window (all windows are fixed). 3 cabins on the upper deck and 16 cabins on the lower deck.

 

The salon is a large room for common use and it features a semi-separate restaurant area and a bar area. On the spacious and partially covered sun deck are sitting places (tables + chairs) and storage room for the bikes.

Cabins

There are 8 double cabins that are equipped with twin beds and 2 cabins that can be made into a triple with a bunk bed. All cabins come with private bathroom facilities, bed linens, towels, and central heating. There is a fan in each cabin, as well as windows that can be opened. 

 

The Gandalf also has a large deck, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the great views.

Below deck, the Iris has twelve spacious and comfortable twin cabins (10 m² – 108 sq.ft.) with two single beds. Each cabin has a private shower, toilet and basin. The cabins have central heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and a fixed window. Furthermore, in each cabin you will find a mini safe and hair dryer.

 

Common areas
On the upper deck of the Iris, you will find the lounge, a spacious sitting area with wide screen TV, a cozy bar and a dining area. Wi-Fi is available. On the upper deck you will also find the sundeck. On nice evenings or while cruising you can enjoy the scenery from here. The barge has central heating and air-conditioning in all rooms.

For over many years the ‘tjalk’ JACOB, with skipper Teunis at the steeringwheel, is sailing the Dutch waterways. This ship can accomodate many guests and is “nicely priced”. It is also possible to book the ship for self catering. For groups from schools, youth clubs and families this ship is worth to sail with.

The cabins

On the lower deck, the Leafde fan Fryslân has twelve well-appointed twin cabins (10 m² – 107 sq.ft.), with two single beds, which can be set together in most cabins and 1 single cabin (8 m² – 86 sq.ft.). Some of the twin cabins can be booked as a three-bed cabin (the third bed as bunk). Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. All cabins have ventilation and heating, portholes and a hatch that can be opened. Furthermore, in each cabin you will find a hairdryer and a mini safe.

 

Common areas
On the lower deck you will find the restaurant in nautical style, where the carefully prepared sumptuous meals are served. In the wheelhouse on the upper deck, theship offers a cosy lounge which is equipped with large panoramic windows, a well-appointed seating area , TV and a well equipped bar. Wi-Fi is available. The best views over the water are available here and on the deck, where you can also have a seat when the weather is nice.

  • 12 twin cabins (approx. 11 m², 2 single adjacent beds)
  • 1 single cabin (approx. 8 m²); the upper deck has 4 beautiful suites (approx. 14 m², 2 single adjacent beds next and a small sitting area) with large panoramic windows.

It has 14 regular twin cabins (approx. 11 M² , 2 single beds as twins, next to each other) and 2 single cabins in the lower deck.

 

In the upper deck it has 5 suites with a small sitting area and large windows (a part of the windows can be opened) (approx. 14 M², 2 single beds as twins, next to each other).

 

All cabins and suites have en-suite bathrooms with shower and toilet, individually regulated air conditioning, flat screen (satellite) TV, a small safe and a hair dryer. On request, an extra bed is available in some twin cabins (above one of the other beds). Most cabins can also be booked as cabins with a double bed (on previous request only).

 

Common areas

The barge has a spacious salon witha restaurant area, bar and lounge and whirlpool/Jacuzzi and deckchairs to relax on Top deck for beautiful views around.

  • 12 ensuite twin cabins featuring two separate beds, with the possibility of adding a third bunk bed (9 m² – 97 sq.ft.); 
  • one junior suite (11 m² – 118 sq.ft.) with two single beds which can be joined together and a small sitting area;
  • one single cabin (6 m² – 65 sq.ft.). 


All cabins are equipped with a flat screen TV. 

Common rooms and restaurant are also on the lower deck, while on the upper deck there are a bar and a relax area provided with external jacuzzi.

Already from the year 1897 the Tijdgeest sails with tourists, in the early years as a passenger ship on the river Rhine in Germany. More than 100 years later, in 1998, the ship has been completely renovated and rebuild into a nice hotel boat. At the lower deck you’ll find the air-conditioned cabins, all with private facilities. Cabins have bunk beds. At the upperdeck a very spacious living/dining room with panoramic view. Due to the availability of a WIFI point you have the possibility to use your laptop aboard. A laptop for general use is also available. Newly renovated in 2010.

The Vita Nova, originally named the Tijdgeest was built and launched in 1913. It plied for trade in and around Holland carrying various types of cargos in the winter and pleasure passengers in the summer. The first passengers were members of the Christian church and had to sleep in hammocks slung between the decks. The present owners took over the boat in1996 and after a major refit it has plied for the pleasure routes ever since.

The cabins

On the lower deck, the Wapen fan Fryslân has twelve identical twin cabins (8,5 m² – 91 sq.ft.), each with two separate single beds which can be set together and a folding bed as a third bed which can be used if needed. In each cabin there is a bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. All cabins have ventilation, central heating and two portholes of which one can be opened. Furthermore, you will find a mini safe in each cabin.

 

Common areas

On the lower deck the ship offers a large lounge/restaurant with TV. From here you can reach the large wheelhouse with a cosy and stylish bar and seating area. The panoramic windows offer a perfect all around view of the water. Wi-Fi is available.

The afterdeck has an outdoor cafe with draught beer tap and a Jacuzzi and on the middle deck there are various sitting areas and there is room to enjoy a lovely meal outdoors to watch the scenery while sailing.

For a wonderful sailing trip you can try the ship Waterland. This cosy passenger ship is ideal for group bookings, but the crew also welcomes the individual traveller. The informal atmosphere aboard makes everybody feels at home quickly. The living has a small bar, at the sun deck all passengers can be seated.

On the lower deck, the Zwaantje has twelve comfortable guest cabins. Ten twins (7 m² – 75 sq.ft.) with two separate single beds and two doubles (6 m² – 65 sq.ft.) with one double bed.

Each cabin has a private shower, toilet and basin. All cabins have ventilation, central heating, air-conditioning and a window; the windows in the double cabins can be opened, the windows in the twin cabins are fixed for safety reasons. Furthermore, in each cabin you will find a safe deposit box and a hair dryer.

On the upper deck you will find the nice and cozy salon with heating, air conditioning, large panoramic windows, a restaurant area, lounge corner and a small bar. Wi-Fi is available. The Zwaantje also has a very spacious sun deck with chairs and tables where you can relax, enjoy the scenery while sailing or join the skipper in the wheel house.
